Skyn Iceland Review Summary |
|
When most people think of Iceland, few picture pampering spa treatments. And yet, the island is home to world-famous hot springs to which tourists have flocked for years in the hopes of curing whatever ails them.
Skyn Iceland’s products were inspired by the largely untouched natural beauty of Iceland, and are designed to not only clear away impurities, but also cleanse the mind of stress. According to the brand’s website, stress can have a number of negative effects on the skin, causing dehydration, clogged pores, and increased sensitivity. Skyn Iceland products contain both natural ingredients and modern technology to help sooth inflammations, hydrate and protect the skin. But for all of its talk about unique formula inspired by Iceland’s unspoiled resources, these products are actually fairly standard in composition.

Skyn Iceland’s Oxygen Infusion Night Cream is one of many products on the market that claims to “oxygenize” the skin. This is somewhat of an unusual claim, since many products (including this one) also boast that they contain anti-oxidants, or components that protect the skin from oxygen. While experts agree that the skin does require oxygen in order to remain healthy, no one is entirely sure how much is the right amount, or whether “oxygenating” creams serve any purpose.
This product also contains Skyn Iceland’s Biospheric Complex, which is a blend of Vitamins and natural extracts, including rice peptides. Although rice has been a staple in Japanese beauty regimens for generations, it is becoming increasingly common in Western cosmetics because of its purported ability to stimulate collagen synthesis and help protect the skin from UV damage. As appealing as this may sound, these claims are still largely unsubstantiated.

 | Website |

Skyn Iceland’s aim is to clam the nerves of its overstressed customers, and these efforts are apparent in the design of its website. The design is sparse and minimalist, with images of Iceland’s remarkable landscape. It also devotes an entire section to explaining the physiological effects of stress on the body, including the skin, and offers tips on how to keep stress from building up to an unmanageable level. The advice is quite sensible, and does not include a heavy sales pitch.
The site offers further education by providing a glossary of ingredients. In addition to describing the origin of a particular extract, it also explains how it may benefit the skin. This helps consumers to be informed, and choose the appropriate product for them.
Despite all of this valuable information, nothing can take the place of direct experience. Unfortunately, Skyn Iceland does not offer a free trial sample through its website, so consumers must invest the full cost, plus shipping, in order to try a product.
