SkinCeuticals Review Summary |
|
SkinCeuticals’ mission is to improve skin health through science. By working with dermatologists, plastic surgeons and spa clinicians from all around the world, the company advertised to reach a greater understanding of aging, sun damage, and other skin conditions. In order to do this, SkinCeuticals has also tapped cellular and molecular biologists, chemists, biophysicists, and physicians, and has funded clinical trials at Duke University School of Medicine and the National Institutes of Health.
Founded in 1997, SkinCeuticals claims to have helped developed the first topical Vitamin C formula, which helps to protect skin from the sun’s damaging rays. Today, the company continues its mission to improve skin health with its range of products that feature this same formula, but with a few improvements.

SkinCeuticals Skin Firming Cream seems to address a very important issue in aging skin: the loss of skin collagen. Collagen levels tend to decrease as we get older, causing the skin to sag and crease. By restoring some of its firmness, skin appears lifted, and wrinkles lose some of their depth. However, the Skin Firming Cream product description does not list an advanced peptide complex such as Matrixyl 3000, which has been shown to accelerate collagen synthesis. This leaves consumers somewhat in the dark about how exactly this product will work to improve their skin.

 | Website |
|
Because of the company’s stated emphasis on research and development, the SkinCeuticals website includes a lot of information on the scientific processes behind each formulation, as well as detailed descriptions of several active ingredients. However, consumers may still feel somewhat in the dark after reading the sparse product listings, which offer comparatively fewer details about exactly how the product works.
Another drawback of this line is that it is only available through skincare professionals. Consumers may browse products online, and even find a nearby distributor, but the website does not offer online ordering. Not only is this slightly inconvenient, products purchased through a physician’s office are generally more expensive, and SkinCeuticals is no exception.
