The Obagi Nu-Derm System is designed to help heal damage caused by overexposure to the sun and pollution, as well as prevent further damage from occurring. Its philosophy states that it is not enough to simply treat symptoms, but rather skin care products must treat the skin as a whole organ. Obagi's approach entails a multi-step system that may be customized to suit a particular skin type or condition.
Obagi has two systems of therapeutic skin care, one that is designed to “transform” damaged skin, and another that is designed to prevent damage from occurring. Both of these systems contain prescription and nonprescription components, and many items are available online.

Obagi’s products are divided into two separate lines. Some of the products in the Nu-Skin System include: Toner, Foaming Gel, Healthy Skin Protection SPF 35, Exfoderm Forte, Gentle Cleanser, and Eye Cream.
Some of the products in the Cffectives system include: C-Cleansing Gel, Professional-C Serum, C-Exfoliating Day Lotion, and C-Sunguard SPF 30.

Obagi Professional C Serum includes vitamin C as its active ingredient to help protect the skin from free radical damage. However, Vitamin C can be quite unstable, and so in spite of Obagi’s claims; it is difficult to determine whether or not this particular formula will be any more effective than other similar treatments.
Although it is a well-known fact that preventing skin damage is one of the best ways to prevent wrinkles and premature aging, but unfortunately many of us learned this lesson too late in life. It may then come as disappointing news that this serum does not contain an active ingredient to help boost collagen levels and increase skin firmness.

At the time of this review, Obagi did not have its own website, although it does post product descriptions on a number of other sites that are devoted to cosmeceuticals. However, this does not necessarily mean that Obagi offers consumers the same amount of information as is typically included on a brand’s site. Although the company does provide a complete list of ingredients for each product, it provides only the most basic information on its active ingredients. This means that shoppers may have to look elsewhere for details on how exactly certain components work to improve the skin.
Because Obagi does not have its own website, this also means that it is unable to provide automatic shipping for its nonprescription items. Those who have a favorite product can certainly attest to the frustration that comes with discovering that supplies are suddenly running low. Waiting a week to 10 days for wrinkle cream is an inconvenience that should be easily avoided.
