Lierac Review Summary

Lierac bills itself as a “skin elasticity specialist,” and produces a range of products designed to improve the tightness and tone of skin on a number of areas of the body. Like an increasing number of companies, Lierac also claims that its formulas are a combination of plant extracts and advanced cosmeceuticals.

The line was created by a French physician who specializes in treating such frustrating skin problems as cellulite, hyper-pigmentation and stretch marks. Although it is still better known in Europe, its botanically-based approach has earned Lierac an increasing amount of attention stateside.

Products at a Glance
The Lierac line consists of treatments for both the face and body. Some of these products include: Coherence Night Cream, Intensive Depigmenting Treatment, Diopticalm Anti-fatigue treatment, Hydro-Chrono Anti-aging and hydration cream, Day Peel, and Coherence Neck Firming Serum.

Products In Focus
Lierac’s Neck Firming treatment is part of its Coherence line, which is designed to keep the skin firm and moisturized. The line also includes products specially designed for nighttime use, for the skin around the eyes, and around the lips. Clearly, the cost of treating the entire head and neck can add up quickly. Yet in spite of all of this specialization, the formulations of each individual product are actually quite similar. Most dermatologists would agree that there is little reason why Lierac’s Coherence day or night cream could not be used on the neck as well as the face, and the only reason for selling multiple products is to boost sales.

Website
A truly international company, Lierac’s website may be viewed in several languages. Unlike many manufacturers of high-end cosmetics, the company also provides ingredient lists for all of its products. This is particularly helpful to consumers who may be shopping online since so many anti aging creams make similar claims. However, the site comes up a bit short by not providing descriptions of active ingredients so that those who may be unfamiliar with cosmetic treatments can more easily determine whether a product is right for them.

Another drawback of the Lierac website is the fact that it does not offer online shopping. This can be frustrating for consumers, since not all retailers carry every product in a particular brand’s line. By selling their own products, a company can also more easily monitor quality control.

Positives
• Website posts a clear list of ingredients for each product
• Some products contain amino acid peptides
