La Therapie products are designed to deliver professional-quality results thanks to advanced pharmaceutical and medical ingredients. The line focuses primarily on fighting the signs of aging, but also offers treatment for specific conditions such as acne, hyper-pigmentation and scarring.
Although much of La Therapie’s research is devoted to developing new spa treatments, the company also offers a line of products that are designed to bring the spa experience into the home. Many of these treatments are based on glycolic acid in combination with antioxidants. Although these ingredients have their benefits, unfortunately, the wrinkle treatments in La Therapie’s line are somewhat behind the times.

Crème Hydralift is part of La Therapie’s Skin Nutritives collection, which is advertised to hydrate mature skin and help to delay the effects of gravity by encouraging cellular renewal. This product also includes an extra element of “luxury” in that its formula contains caviar, which some cosmetic companies assert helps to increase the rate of skin renewal, because its cellular structure is quite similar to that of human skin. However, many dermatologists warn that many of the products on the market that list caviar as one of its ingredients actually contain too little of the extract to actually make a significant improvement.
Slightly more promising is the inclusion of fresh collagen, which has been shown to help mature skin retain its elasticity. However, collagen levels tend to decline with age, and topical application may not be sufficient. For this reason, some high quality anti-wrinkle creams contain an ingredient like Matrixyl 3000, which has been shown to boost collagen synthesis and prevent the skin from sagging and creasing.

La Therapie’s website is quite attractively designed, and suggests the minimalism of a luxurious spa. It contains a fair amount of information on both the brand’s spa treatments and slightly less information on its products, other than detailed sections on glycolic acid, and Vitamins A and C. Although these ingredients appear frequently in La Therapie products, the line also includes a number of other ingredients that may be somewhat unfamiliar to consumers. For this reason, this site could be significantly improved by the inclusion of a glossary of ingredients.
Those interested in purchasing La Therapie products may do so online, but unfortunately they must go outside of the manufacturer’s website to a third party retailer. This makes quality assurance a little less secure, since expiration dates are sometimes less stringently observed.
