L’Occitane Review Summary |
|
L’Occitane was founded 30 years ago in the southern French region of Provence. Hoping to bring balance and harmony of the senses to both men and women, founder Olivier Baussan created L’Occitane in the hopes that its natural ingredients would produce a sense of well being in users.
Today, the company has 15 separate collections, each with their own story. According to the product website, Baussan was inspired by the local folklore and history of Provence, and created his products to preserve local customs as well as give a modern update to traditional remedies. Although some consumers may be drawn to L’Occitane products because of its associations with the bucolic French countryside, they may not necessarily provide protection against the signs of aging.

Immortelle is the French word for “everlasting” as well as an evergreen shrub whose extract is often used in aromatherapy to rejuvenate and regenerate the body. Some herbalists also believe that it may be helpful for healing skin problems.
Immortelle Precious Fluid and other products in L’Occitane’s Immortelle line are designed to make use of the herb’s regeneration benefits, helping the skin feel smoother and appear younger. However, it is important to keep in mind that some essential oils can be just as irritating as artificial fragrances, so those with sensitive skin may want to consider a milder product.

With the many herbs and natural extracts L’Occitane uses in its products, the company was wise to include a glossary of ingredients. This helps to explain not only the natural origin of each ingredient, but its benefits. Still, considering the enormous range of products available, the website could still benefit from some sort of tool to help shoppers determine which products are most appropriate for their needs.
Those in the United States, Canada, and a few other select countries may also enjoy the ease of online shopping. Many consumers have come to greatly enjoy this option, as it allows them to choose from the brand’s entire range of products. Since L’Occitane stores tend to be located only in metropolitan areas, many shoppers would also likely benefit from a selection of free trial samples, but unfortunately, the company only offers free samples with purchase.
