DDF Review Summary

Doctors Dematologic Formula, also known as DDF, is a long-established skin care brand that attempts to deliver professional results in over-the-counter products. Its approach is based on a three-step protocol consisting of cleansing, protecting and treating which may be adapted to address specific concerns.

While this guidance may be helpful to those who require a little guidance in selecting a skincare regime, the plans require numerous components, and the cost of the complete protocol can add up quickly. The abundance of similar products in DDF’s line seems to suggest that each is just a bit incomplete, which is disappointing in a line that was designed by dermatologists.

Products at a Glance
Some of the products in DDF’s line include: Wrinkle Relax, Nourishing Buffing Beads, Matte Finish Photo-Age Protection, Fade Gel, Redness Relief, Aloe Toning Complex, Salicylic Wash, C3 Plus Serum, and Intensive Hydration Mask.

Products In Focus
DDF’s C3 Plus Serum falls into its Anti-Aging Preventative category, as opposed to the Anti-Aging Restorative, but it contains several ingredients that may also help to soften existing lines. The peptide complex Matrixyl, for example, has been shown to stimulate collagen synthesis, which helps to restore firmness as well as reduce the depth of wrinkles and creases. It also contains the water-binding agent Hyaluronic Acid, which helps to nourish cells and carry away debris, giving the skin a more radiant appearance.

Although this serum does contain some excellent ingredients, it does not go as far as it could in preventing wrinkles. Matrixyl works quite well for smoothing skin, but it is even more effective when combined with Argireline, another peptide complex that reduces the small facial twitches and ticks with over time can cause lines to form.

Website
Perhaps because DDF was founded by physicians, DDF claims that consumer education is one of its priorities. For this reason, the company’s website includes an extensive index of articles on topics such as caring for skin during the winter months, and how to prevent sun damage.

Another excellent way to help consumers learn is to provide a glossary of active ingredients. This helps to give a clearer picture of how each product works to improve the skin, as well as helps consumers determine which formulas are most appropriate for their skin type and concerns. DDF does provide the main active ingredients for each of its formulas, but relatively few people know the difference between Matrixyl and Hyaluronic Acid. Most manufacturers of high quality products recognize that the more informed their customers are about the latest advances, the more likely they are to be satisfied.
